It's a little late for ambivalence.

I just arrived in Nagasaki a few hours ago. The plane trips were long and boring and I hardly got any rest. There were many people, especially after Vancouver that were happy to talk about the exchange and what I might expect, which was exciting.

Language here is pretty overwhelming because I have such a poor vocabulary. I ate supper at a Japanese restaurant with Sohei Okada and his family in Osaka, then with my host family at an Italian restaurant here. I only caught a few words for both conversations, so I had to rely on English a lot. My host-brother says he’ll help me learn as much as he can, and there’s a Japanese Language school I’m going to soon. It’s going to be hard to adjust because so much is different here, but it’s all part of the experience.
