But unfortunately it is strep throat. I got poked and proded by the folks and the clinic and finally the doc prescribed that good old penicillin. It turns out they don’t sell advil in the Shatner building, but the woman behind the country at Sadies did have some in her bag. Of course I never turn down drugs from strangers.

Now I have a legitimate excuse for sitting around all day watching Pokemon and sleeping. I’ve had to email all my profs and ask for extensions and all that fun stuff. I still haven’t heard back from the one whose midterm I missed this afternoon…

I’m also stuck here wondering just how high my temperature has to be before it’s really a fever. At the clinic, the nurse said 37.1 is not a fever. I bought a fancy little thermometer, and it’s told me things as high as 37.8 and as low as 36.4. I seem to think 36.4 is actually below regular body temperature… I could be wrong, though. (And no, it’s not just because it’s a crappy thermometer, as the values did change gradually over time… it didn’t try to tell me that my temp dropped over a degree in 30 seconds or anything.0

Hmm…. back up to 37.3… maybe I should go lie down again…..

PS. I’ve been craving fruit smoothies, cheezies, and peanut butter and cheeze whiz sandwiches. If anybody has access to any of these, I want to know about it, and I expect to see you at my doorstep within 30 minutes.
