I almost walked to Zellers today for the third time in as many afternoons, but then I realised that the only thing I needed to get was for winter and I didn’t even really want it anyway. This is one of those days that I despise every minute I spend indoors, but I need to study and I haven’t yet found a suitable picnic table outside.

Actually, I haven’t found a suitable anything anywhere. I sat in the library for half an hour before I realised that it was hotter in there than outside. I was actually sweating. From sitting in a cubicle and turning pages every four minutes. What’s up with that?

So I walked back home again, noted the irony of listening to ??????? on such a happy sunny day, and tried looking out for a picnic table I might stop at for a while. Instead I coveted the little patios on Milton with their white plastic lawn furniture, and wished I was back home, my real home, on Kingswood, with my own white plastic lawn furniture and the big red picnic table in my backyard. Hmmm.

Now I’m back home with the blinds drawn to keep out the sun that I’m in love with, windows open, listening to the sounds of people outside. Maybe I should go to Zellers after all, to get a fly swatter and some mesh to improvise a screen.
