I’m having a bit of a midlife crisis with this website. At least that’s the best way I can think of to describe it. More accurately I just feel like changing something about it. Giving it a bit of a makeover, and making some more decent content.
In terms of the latter, I’ve at least written a few book reviews lately. They tend to be the biggest thing that draws people in from search engines, and it’s always nice to feel like people are actually finding something remotely interesting. They especially seem to love my writings on The Lord of the Rings, James Joyce’s Araby, and What the Bleep Do We Know. Even if most of them probably only do read a few sentences.
When I originally set up this website, I remember I chose the address (gpaciga.clawz.com) such that it would be easy for me to change the name easily. In fact the name did change a few times in the first few days. I tried to do the same thing with the various subsections of the site (e.g. gpaciga.clawz.com/green/) even though it didn’t seem to occur to me that that, even though the names of those sections could change, the design was slightly restricted.
I think The Nebula‘s days are numbered, even if that only means that the graphic on the top left corner will change. I’ve been trying to think of something better, but the only thing that really appeals to me might have a tiny copyright problem, and also it sounds a lot like pastafish. Even if it does predate my knowledge of pastafish.
Regardless, I think it’s time for some change around here.
