Author: William Golding

This was one of those standard required-reading novels in Grade 11 that everybody ends up hating. Usually the “classics” are really pieces of crap, but this one was actually very good.

It’s not that I love the story, it’s that I love what the story is saying. Once you understand the themes (you know, the ones that nobody except the English teacher seems to know), this book is downright scary. It kind of gives me goosebumps.

I definitely recommend this to everybody. Not everybody will like it, but you should still read it just in case you can pick up on some of the themes. I did get kinda sick talking about it all in class, but there really is something to be learned from this.
