I heard about the so-called Fermilab Shoemaker Cryptogram via Cosmic Variance. It was a letter received by Fermilab in 2007 by an unknown author. Two sections have been decoded. Just for fun I programmed this page to convert to and from the two codes used.
Anything except letters and spaces are ignored. A period is dealt with in good old telegraph fashion to allow for messages longer than a sentence, but no other punctuation survives. No guarantees are made, but if you think something needs to be fixed give me a shout and I’ll see what I can do.
