  1. Before Sunrise (2008.04.20) — In particular, I like the moment where Celine goes to touch Jessie’s shoulder, but pulls back at the last moment. This movie often fits very well with a lot of my own worries about things. I’m clearly old for my age. I think it’s better than the first one, although it’s good to see both for the context. I also believe it has one of the best endings of any movie I have ever seen.
  2. Shortbus (2008.04.20) — Like the above, I like this movie because I sympathize a lot with the main characters. In each one of them I see something of myself. I’ve known people who loved Before Sunrise but hated this one. I guess that one address my inadequacies in the mental side of relationships, this one in the more physical side, and the disconnect between them.
  3. Finding Nemo (2008.04.20) — Probably the best Disney film made. It gives me goosebumps still, after having seen it many times, and I still can’t get over the part where Marlin gets to the Dentist’s office. I am also in love with Dory.
  4. GO (2008.04.20) — I saw this movie in a language I didn’t fully understand and knew that it would be one of my favourites. It’s funny how movies can get to you just with their mood and atmosphere as much as the things that are said. I think I learned something both about Japanese culture and my experience in it.
  5. i heart huckabees (2008.04.20) — On Facebook (and, I should be explicit here, in real life) my religious views are “optimistic nihilist”. I heart huckabees captures a lot of that pretty well, plus it’s just fun to watch.
